Culbreth Middle School’s Apple Distinguished School status has been renewed for the 2010-11 school year.
Culbreth received the recognition as a result of the school’s iPod Touch project. A letter from Apple praises the school for its innovative use of iPods with English-language learners. Representatives from Apple will attend a district board of education meeting to present the award.
Apple Distinguished School awards for 2010-11 were presented to 52 schools across the country, including one other school in North Carolina. The awards are given to schools “that have become centers of educational excellence and leadership, consistently demonstrating ‘best practice’ qualities of a 21st century learning environment utilizing Apple technology.”
