Three fifth-grade students at Ephesus Elementary School took their persuasive writing assignment a step further by sending their essay to Stephanie Willis, the district’s health coordinator.
Becca Beechold, Naomi Nelson and Amy Westerhoff, whose essay focused on the need for more recess equipment, received $100 from Willis to purchase the necessary equipment. The students gathered feedback from their classmates and worked within their allocated budget to meet the needs of the entire grade level.
