Carrboro poetry contest

Anyone 18 or younger who lives in Carrboro or the town’s Extra Territorial Jurisdiction may submit a poem by April 1 for the 2011 Carrboro Centennial Poetry Contest.

The contest will be divided into elementary, middle and high school levels. Each level will have one first-place winner and one honorable mention.

Mail your poem to Carrboro Youth Poetry Contest, Attn.: Kim Andrews, 100 N. Greensboro St., Carrboro, NC 27510.

Include the name of your school and your teacher; your date of birth, address, phone number and email; and two or three sentences about yourself. You must sign your poem and write in your handwriting, “I pledge that this is my original poem.”
