Letter: Thanks

Posted on April 14, 2011April 14, 2011 by Staff

We want to thank our community for its enthusiastic support of the Dispute Settlement Center’s Fifth Annual Wine Tasting held at Top of the Hill’s new Great Room last week.

More than 200 people attended and enjoyed sampling wines provided by 3Cups. More than 50 local businesses donated goods and services for our silent auction. Sponsors representing the legal, real estate, banking and business communities donated generously.

We raised over $15,000 for our Youth Programs. The Dispute Settlement Center helps young people in schools, public-housing neighborhoods and community centers make good choices when faced with conflicts. We also work intensively with youth referred from Juvenile Court, providing them and their families with skills-based trainings.

In a time when creative approaches to violence prevention – and even our court services – are being threatened by reduced funding, this community support means a lot.

The Dispute Settlement Center has served this community since 1978 and appreciates its supporters.
