Twelve students from Chapel Hill and Carrboro high schools placed in the annual German Day, which was held at Guilford College on March 9.
Students from Chapel Hill High were: Sara McAdams and Bradley Viles, first place in level 1 song; Natalie Bulik-Sullivan, second place in spelling bee; and Katja Lake, third place in extemporaneous speaking.
Students from Carrboro High were:Â Samuel Hickey, Blaine Taylor, David Murphy, Lyndsey Peterson, Emmaline Doherty, Dorothea Erxleben and Mary Morrison, first place scavenger hunt team; Dorothea Erxleben, second place in extemporaneous speaking; and Ilana Schmidt, third place in extemporaneous speaking.
