The multi-agency Alcohol Law Enforcement Response Team conducted a compliance operation on April 21. The team, comprised of officers with the Carrboro Police Department and an underage person, checked alcohol outlets in Carrboro for compliance with alcohol-sale regulations.
A total of 19 businesses were checked, and six of those sold to the underage person. The businesses were Torero’s, 104 N.C. 54; Don Jose, 708 W. Rosemary St.; Kangaroo, 500 Jones Ferry Road; Kangaroo, 102 N.C. 54; Handee Hugo’s, 1401 W. Main St.; and Southern Rail, 201 E. Main St. Clerks at the businesses were charged with selling alcohol to a person under 21 years of age.
