Phillips places at math contest

Three Phillips Middle School teams performed well in the Regional State Mathematics Contest on March 24.

The Algebra I team, including Angella Kim, Austin Lessin, David Takamiya and Thomas Wang, finished fourth. The Geometry team, including Amos Pomp, Peter Sun, Blaise Whitesell and Chase Yuan, also finished fourth.

The Algebra II team finished third. Team members include Alex Chang, Jordan Cho, Yise Dong, Danuh Kim, Arnav Subramanya and Wentao Zhang. 

Chang, Pomp and Whitesell qualified to compete in the state contest. The students competed against teams from 34 area middle and high schools.
