Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools will host a reception from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Carrboro High School to pay tribute to Superintendent Neil Pedersen.
Pedersen will retire after 19 years as superintendent in June. The event will feature a school and program fair, with 30 booths highlighting district achievements and food provided by local restaurants. The Culbreth Middle School Jazz Band, the Glenwood Gator Show Choir and the East Chapel Hill High School Chiefs of Staff and Alley Cats will perform.
A program featuring remarks offered by local school and government officials will begin in the CHS auditorium at 3:30 p.m. Community members are invited to the reception.
