Water main installation in the west block of Weaver Street is nearly complete, with sections of the westbound lane closed as work moves toward Carrboro Town Hall, while the east block of the street will remain closed until late May or early June.
The yearlong project involves the replacement of the street’s collapsing roadbed and the 80-year-old sewer line beneath it.
Pedestrian access remains open along both blocks of Weaver Street, though pedestrians may be directed to one side of the street or the other.
