Town works with UNC to provide employee care

Posted on June 8, 2011 by Staff

The Town of Chapel Hill has formed a partnership with UNC Health Care to provide workplace wellness programs and minor illness treatment to town employees.

“We believe that easy access to basic preventative health services and education can help employees better manage their health needs, while reducing medical costs,” Town Manager Roger Stancil said in a news release. “We developed this novel idea with our hometown partners because we are committed to improving the health of our workforce.”

The program will also create a website where employees can schedule appointments, communicate with a nurse practitioner and access other health resources.

For more information, contact Jennifer James, UNC Health Care, at 966-7622 or Sabrina Oliver, Town of Chapel Hill, at 968-2743.
