
Grace Meyrin Holtkamp, of Orange County, N.C., will graduate on July 1, 2011, with a First Class Master of Arts in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh in Edinburgh, Scotland, after having completed her dissertation on James Joyce’s Finnegans Wake. Grace was recently awarded the David Masson Scholarship Award, the highest award conferred by the English department for highest overall academic performance with an honors-level degree. This fall, Grace will pursue an M.Sc. by Research in Edinburgh with Dr. Lee Spinks, author of James Joyce: A Critical Guide.
Grace graduated from Durham Academy in 2007 after attending Immaculata Catholic School in Durham and Saint Mary’s Country Day in Orange County. Grace is the daughter of Lynne M. Holtkamp and the late John Harry Holtkamp, M.D. Her maternal grandparents are Jack and Sandy (Ferrell) Robinson of Raleigh and the late Mary Anne (Nelson) Robinson of Mebane and Sanford, and her paternal grandparents are the late Douglas C. Holtkamp and Laura (Cowdrick) Holtkamp of Southern Pines and Westchester County, N.Y.
