Chatham seeks committee members

Posted on August 4, 2011August 4, 2011 by Staff

The Chatham County Board of Commissioners seeks 12 members for its Human Relations Advisory Committee; the deadline for applications is Sept. 9.
The committee has transitioned from a commission to an advisory committee and will generally focus on promoting positive relationships between various groups in the county and may also recommend county-sponsored programs and activities, such as awards programs and exhibits.
The terms for all seats will eventually be three years, but this initial round of appointments will stagger the terms by assigning one-, two- and three-year terms to open seats.
To apply, complete a volunteer committee application at chathamnc.org/index.aspx?page=49. For more information, contact County Manager Charlie Horne at 542-8200.
