The average SAT score of Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools students has dropped nine points this year, compared to 2010 results.
Eighty-five percent of district seniors took the SAT exam in 2011. District students scored an average of 1,182 on the critical reading and math sub-tests, compared to 1,001 for the 67 percent of seniors who took the test statewide. CHCCS students’ average writing score was 567, which is 15 points below the 2010 average.
Overall, CHCCS students had the highest average composite SAT scores of any district in the state.
