On Friday, Sept. 9, 150 people gathered to honor former Chapel Hill mayor Kevin Foy and to raise funds and awareness for Community Home Trust. The event was held in the beautiful event space at Greenbridge, home to 15 lower income families.
I want to thank everyone who supported the Home Trust, especially the honoree, Kevin Foy, the award presenter, Roger Perry, our emcee, Hubert Davis and the honorary co-chairs who represented 50 years of public policy leadership in Chapel Hill. They are: Mayor Mark Kleinschmidt, Rosemary Waldorf, Kenneth Broun, Jonathan Howes, Joseph Nassif, Howard and Lillian Lee and Sandy McClamroch.
The event would not have been possible without the hard work of our event committee, made up of Home Trust staff, board members and homeowners. Thank you all for creating such a great event.
I also want to thank our many generous sponsors, all of whom are local businesses and individuals. Special thanks to The Fenwick Foundation and UNC Health Care for your generosity.
Finally I want to thank our many old and new friends for taking the time to support affordable, inclusionary housing in our community. The Home Trust is grateful to have so many generous friends.
