LETTER: Support Storrow and Johnson for council, aldermen

Posted on October 27, 2011 by Staff

With great excitement I learned that two young, progressive and impressive candidates were running for office in both Carrboro and Chapel Hill – Michelle Johnson in Carrboro and Lee Storrow in Chapel Hill. I couldn’t be happier. Both our towns will be enhanced by these leaders. Both are dedicated to diversity in the community and building a tax base while sustaining and enhancing services for those most in need. Michelle Johnson is especially inspired to focus on affordable housing and looks forward to serving on the Board of Aldermen. Lee Storrow, running for Chapel Hill Town Council, is youthful and yet already an experienced community advocate and leader with a special emphasis on health policy. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention and works for the Alliance for Health. He interned for me at NC Prevention Partners and that’s where I became aware of how talented and smart he was. I ask that my friends in both towns vote for Michelle and Lee as they forge their way into what I hope will be exciting political careers and involvement. They are current leaders with great potential to be even stronger future leaders.
