Sweet potato sliced, center opens

Posted on October 27, 2011October 27, 2011 by Staff

Instead of cutting a ribbon, U.S. Rep. David Price slices through a sweet potato to celebrate the grand opening of the Piedmont Food and Agricultural Processing Center in Hillsborough last Friday, while center manager Matthew Roybal looks on. About 150 people attended the grand opening, where Price commended the planning and cooperative effort that went into making the center a reality. The 10,400-square-foot facility will be used as an incubator for food businesses, where clients can lease commercial kitchen space and vegetable and fruit processing facilities by the hour.
