Superintendent Tom Forcella announced last week that McDougle Elementary School Principal Amanda Hartness was named principal of the year by Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools.
Hartness was selected by her peers due to her numerous accomplishments including her dedication to wellness. Hartness has served as principal at McDougle Elementary since 2008. She was previously the assistant principal at Carrboro Elementary School. She joined the CHCCS district in 2006 after serving in the Alamance-Burlington Schools and the Cherokee County Schools.
