The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools district has received a Green Plus Certification, and the district’s accomplishments were recognized at a school board meeting earlier this month. The program, which is housed in Chapel Hill, recognizes organizations for their commitment to a triple bottom line of environmental sustainability, social responsibility and economic sustainability.
CHCCS was honored for several initiatives led by the Sustainability Committee, including the garden grants, Green Giants and a commitment to purchasing local food and materials. For more information about the program, visit gogreenplus.org
