Obituary: Gerald Moore Farrell

There will be a memorial service honoring the life of Gerald Moore Farrell. Family and friends are asked to meet and celebrate his life on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 11 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church. Gerald, a lifelong resident of Carrboro, was born on Aug. 21st at his family’s home in Carrboro. Gerald was the son of the late Clarence R. and Clara M. Farrell. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer T. Farrell and her fiancé, Felix E. Chandler III; his daughter Grace Chandler of Raleigh; one sister, Laverne Farrell, and her husband, Charles F. Hobgood, of Roxboro; and many nieces and nephews and loving friends. Gerald was predeceased by his loving wife, Terry Todd Farrell; their son, Gerald Moore Farrell II; two brothers, C.R. (Scobie) Farrell Jr. and W. Lee Farrell; and one sister, Royce Farrell Allen. A visitiation will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at Antioch Baptist Church on White Cross Road. Services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, at Antioch Baptist Church, and burial will be following the service at Westwood Cemetery in Carrboro, N.C. Gerald was a beloved husband, father and friend to many. His family and friends were his greatest joy. Gerald loved to go to North Myrtle Beach, and he was an avid Tar Heel fan.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Antioch Baptist Church.
