Nine Chapel Hill-Carrboro schools were awarded garden grants totaling $10,000 in January. The grant applications were reviewed by members of the CHCCS Sustainability Committee. The proposals detailed creative ways to turn the gardens into learning opportunities and provide students with chances for hands-on participation.
The schools are Carrboro Elementary, Glenwood Elementary, McDougle Elementary, Morris Grove Elementary, Seawell Elementary, Culbreth Middle, Carrboro High, Chapel Hill High and Phoenix Academy High.
