Library launches online tutoring

Posted on March 8, 2012March 7, 2012 by Staff

The Chapel Hill Public Library launched a program on March 1 that offers online tutoring to students of all ages.
Any community member with a library card can access the new online service from the library or at home. The K-12 Student Center, College Center and Adult Center at Tutor.com include live, one-on-one tutoring and many tutorials in various subjects.
The new service was made possible through the generous support of the Chapel Hill Public Library Foundation.

This is the most amazing premise! Tutors are able to reach more students through internet than our daily lives allow us. Consider a child unable to get a ride to the nearest library for free tutoring. They would miss out on essential knowledge due to physical limitations.

All libraries should offer free online tutoring.
