We the undersigned heartily support the proposed yarn-bombing ordnance (sic). It will go far to promote mind-bending, eco-centric public art and preserve an increasing rarity in our local public discourse today, the practice of yarn spinning.
Many a fond memory in our lives was spent sitting with the older folks as they spun a good yarn. In fact, we were just wool-gathering the other day about favorite yarns and memorable spinners. Now that our Carrboro yarn-bombers have to keep it local, we hope other similar, well-intentioned regulations may be proposed. We also support a requirement that all Carrboro journalists (many of whom are accomplished yarn spinners) write their copy with quill feathers from locally sourced, free-range snipes. In support, we point to recent research at UNC by the renowned Dr. Leggs Puller indicating the use of such quills leads to wittier prose.
