OWASA resumes normal water disinfection

Posted on April 5, 2012April 4, 2012 by Staff

OWASA resumed its normal method of disinfecting drinking water with a compound of chlorine and ammonia called chloramines on Sunday.

In accordance with a state requirement, for the month of March OWASA used only chlorine to disinfect the drinking water.

Because of this switch, a slight chlorine odor or taste may be noticeable in OWASA water for several days.
