Chatham board supports voter ID

Posted on May 10, 2012May 9, 2012 by Staff

The Chatham County Board of Commissioners voted 3-2 on Monday to support state legislation requiring voter identification at the polls.

The resolution cited surrounding states that have mandatory voter identification at the polls to ensure that election results are “fundamentally fair and every genuine vote is counted.”

Board Chair Brian Bock said they passed the resolution so that the public can continue to have confidence in election results.
