National chemistry champion Kevin Tie, a senior at East Chapel Hill High, has qualified to compete for one of four spots on the U.S. team bound for the 44th-annual International Chemistry Olympiad.
Tie will be attending a study camp June 5-20, where he will receive college-level training with an emphasis on organic chemistry. At the end of the camp, four students will be chosen to represent the U.S. at the International Chemistry Olympiad.
