Up Close and personal

Posted on May 24, 2012 by Staff

Creative reuse of old garments will be on display at “ReFashion,” a fashion show presented Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the Seymour Center and Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at University Mall.

Since January, a group of senior citizens has been working on a community art project, “Up Close & Personal,” a 12-by-17-foot wall hanging, commissioned by the Chapel Hill Public and Cultural Arts office. The group collected donations of old clothing; cut them into panels; then stitched, screen-printed and embroidered them.
