Four Carrboro business owners along with Mayor Mark Chilton and the board of aldermen endorsed a letter sent to Gov. Beverly Perdue last week urging her to veto Senate Bill 820, known as the fracking bill.
The bill would open up the possibility of hydraulic fracturing, a controversial procedure for extracting natural gas. The letter calls for the veto of the bill and was signed by Southern Rail owner Mike Benson, Weaver Street Realty owner Gary Phillips, Kalisher owner Jesse Kalisher and architect Alicia Ravetto.
