The N.C. Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has received a grant that will allow low-income students in every district across the state to have their AP test fees covered.
As part of the Federal AP Test Fee Program, the grant gives DPI more than $800,000 to cover the cost of exams during the 2012-13 school year for low-income students.
Once the state releases more information about how to apply for funds, information will be given to high school guidance counselors to share with students and their families.
