CHS grad named Bonner Leader

Carrboro High School graduate James Smith has been named a Bonner Leader at UNC.
The UNC Bonner Leaders Program is part of a nationwide network involving more than 80 colleges and universities that provide service-based scholarships and community-service work-study funds throughout selected students’ college careers to support intensive undergraduate community-service and social-justice activities.
Smith is part of the new group of freshman who went through a competitive application process emphasizing service and leadership. He plans on majoring in global studies with minors in Spanish and business.
