NFL players inspire area students

Posted on May 13, 2010 by Staff

Students and staff members at McDougle and Rashkis elementary schools had some special visitors last week for an end-of-grade pep rally.

Two former NFL players, Keith Davis and Devin Wyman, visited the schools to share the message of hard work and the importance of education.

Davis was an academic scholar and played for the New York Giants and Wyman played for the New England Patriots. The players had lunch with Superintendant Neil Pedersen and the members of the Brothers in Learning Group at McDougle. The students talked about their dreams of going to college and the impact of the boys group.

At Rashkis, students in third- through fifth-grade were encouraged to always strive for excellence and push toward their dreams and goals. They were given autographed football cards and were able to speak with the players following the presentation.
