What do you hope to accomplish if elected?

If I am elected, I want to continue to create policies that will increase affordable housing and more moderately priced housing. I want to continue to increase the commercial tax base in order to maintain Carrboro’s affordability and also to alleviate the taxes on the residential taxpayer.

What are the top two or three critical issues facing Carrboro?

1. Increasing affordable and moderately priced housing.

2. Ensuring that the town remains affordable for all of its citizens.

3. Ensuring that the town will have sufficient revenue to meet its capital improvement needs.

What have you learned about our town in the campaign?

I learned that our town still has a great need for affordable housing. The citizens are concerned about the Rogers Road neighborhood’s waste transfer site and believe that the site selection was flawed and should be re-executed. I learned that citizens are happy with the new sidewalks, Adams Tract and the plans for the extension of greenways. The citizens are concerned about the cost of living in Carrboro.
