Update: With the Morehead Planetarium site closed because of a conflict with the UNC football game, the Seymour Senior Center became the place to be for early voting in southern Orange County, hundreds of voters waited in line Saturday for their chance to cast a ballot. The unofficial tally at the one-stop site was 5,448 at 1 p.m.

More than 10,000 voters have cast their ballots early as elections officials ready for Election Day on Tuesday.

Unofficial tallies as of late Wednesday afternoon show that 3,322 voters have cast their ballots at Morehead Planetarium, 3, 606 ballots were cast at the Board of Elections office in Hillsborough and 3,112 ballots were cast at the Seymour Senior Center on Homestead Road.

All three sites are open Thursday and Friday of this week with the planetarium and elections office sites open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the senior center site open from noon to 7 p.m.

The elections office and senior center sites will also be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, but the planetarium site will be closed due to a conflict with the UNC football game.

Polling places countywide will be open Tuesday from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Sample ballots and voting information is available at the Orange County Board of Elections website at www.co.orange.nc.us/elect/index.asp
