Students participate in math contest

Middle and high school students from across the district participated in this year’s American Mathematics Competition.

Participating students from McDougle Middle School were Erik Jens, distinguished honor roll, and Dalton Xue, distinguished honor roll.

Phillips Middle School participating students were: Alex Chang, distinguished honor roll, qualified for AIME; Yize Dong, distinguished honor roll, qualified for AIME; Vinay Kshirsagar, distinguished honor roll; Arnav Subramanya, distinguished honor roll; and Chase Yuan, distinguished honor roll.

Participating students from Smith Middle School were: Stephen Foskey, distinguished honor roll; Daniel Lee, distinguished honor roll; Veronica Kim, distinguished honor roll, qualified for AIME; Sarah Wu, distinguished honor roll, qualified for AIME; and Jennifer Zou, distinguished honor roll.

Chapel Hill High School participating students were: Hastings Greer, distinguished honor roll, qualified for AIME; Jonathan Siekierski, distinguished honor roll, qualified for AIME; Katherine Stafford, distinguished honor roll; Elysia Su, distinguished honor roll; Gray Symon, distinguished honor roll, qualified for AIME; Carl Yin, distinguished honor roll, qualified for AIME; and Vincent Zhu, distinguished honor roll.

Participating students from East Chapel Hill High School were: Tom Chang, distinguished honor roll, qualified for AIME; Sheila Deng, distinguished honor roll, qualified for AIME; Alex Kelly, distinguished honor roll, qualified for AIME; Daniel Kong, distinguished honor roll, qualified for AIME; Nina Pande, distinguished honor roll, qualified for AIME; Margaret Tian, distinguished honor roll, qualified for AIME; and Yu Wang, distinguished honor roll, qualified for AIME.
