More than 200 guests were at the Carolina Club on Saturday night to celebrate the retirement of Superintendent Neil Pedersen and raise funds for the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Public School Foundation and the Blue Ribbon Mentor-Advocate program.
The evening’s program included a reprise of the back-to-school montage video and remarks from Public School Foundation President Suki Newton and BRMA coordinator Graig Meyer.
Special tributes were offered by Rashkis Elementary School Principal Deshera Mack; county commissioner and former school board member Valerie Foushee; Pedersen’s son, Kyle; and Pedersen’s BRMA mentee, Kevin Cruz.
