Morris Grove Elementary School observed its 2nd annual Backpack Awareness Day last month.
National School Backpack Awareness Day, which is celebrated across the country, educates parents, students, educators, school administrators and communities about the serious health effects that overweight or improperly worn backpacks have on children.
Occupational therapists Kimberly Bailliard and Jennifer Radzik organized and conducted the event for fourth-graders at Morris Grove Elementary. For Backpack Awareness, therapists demonstrate and teach students how to load and wear their backpacks properly.
