I am writing to encourage residents of northern Orange to vote for Steve Yuhasz for county commissioner. As a 30-year resident of Orange County, professional land surveyor and licensed attorney, Steve has helped rural families and small business owners cope with land-use regulations to protect their land. Elected in 2008 as the first District 2 Orange County commissioner, he saw the struggles so many residents had with ever-increasing property taxes.
As he had been interacting with planning and the commission professionally for years, he was instantly up-to-date with the responsibilities and issues facing the commission. For the past three-and-a-half years, he has served District 2 with a well-informed and conscientious voice.
At this critical stage of greater economic stresses and cutbacks in government and private programs, we need leadership coupled with pragmatism to make our county work now and in the future. Honest, intelligent and hard working, Steve is proactive in supporting our values: good education, health and human services, transportation, protection of the environment, choices in housing, creation of jobs, containing residential property taxes and diversifying our tax base by encouraging responsible economic growth. Steve Yuhasz is the sensible choice Orange County needs for the next four years.
