Community Brief: Compassion award

Posted on June 26, 2008 by Staff

Piedmont Health Services received the Compassionate Friends Award on Tuesday at their Lloyd Street offices in Carrboro.

Deborah England, an employee of Piedmont Health Services, nominated her employer because of the support she received after the death of her son. Piedmont Health Services was recognized for going above and beyond customary workplace policies and practices in meeting the needs of a grieving employee.

The Compassionate Friends is a national nonprofit self-help support organization for families following the death of a child. Each year, the organization honors employers that have shown exceptional caring and compassion when an employee has experienced the death of a child.

Piedmont Health Services is one of 96 organizations to receive the award.
