Posted on September 4, 2008September 4, 2008 by Staff

Betty (Taylor, Powell) McColgan, 88, passed away Thursday morning, Aug. 28. She was born in Maryland and lived in Ohio, Palm Harbor, Florida, and most recently, at Emerald Pond in Durham, N.C.

She will be sadly missed by her faithful husband David McColgan, loving son David Powell and devoted daughter and son-in-law Marge and Tom Allan. Her precious grandsons, many great-grandchildren, extended family members, and loving brother will deeply feel the loss but carry her abundant love with them always. Betty touched the lives of many people. Her unconditional love and compassion transformed acquaintances into life-long friends. Into the arms of an all-loving God, she will be rejoined with her first husband, Hilbert (Bill) Powell, and other loved ones who passed before.

A memorial service was held Sept. 2 at 3 p.m. at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church at 5118 Efland Cedar Grove Raod, Cedar Grove, N.C.
