News brief: Pot, hash siezed in arrest

The Chapel Hill Police Narcotics Unit, with the assistance of the department’s Special Emergency Response Team, seized 11.5 pounds of marijuana and 10.5 ounces of hashish from the residence of Ivan Flemming Moore on Friday.

Police had warrants to search the residence of Moore, 24, at 132 Ridge Trail, after receiving information from the U.S. Postal Inspector that a package addressed to the location contained marijuana.

Moore was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, trafficking marijuana, trafficking hashish, maintaining a dwelling with intent to sell, possession with intent to sell and deliver hashish and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police also seized $4,236 cash from the residence.

Police also charged another individual seen leaving the residence, Joel Layton Richardson, 25, of 8901 Half Moon Court in Raleigh, with felonious possession of marijuana.

Moore is being held in Orange County jail under $100,000 secured bond.

    Hey, I live 3 doors down from this guy on Ridge Trail! He didn’t tell *me* he had 11 pounds (!) of pot.

    By the way, I hardly ever even see signs of life at that address.
