The Second Friday Artwalk kicks off at 6 p.m. with plenty of openings and new shows.
Among the shows are a collection of collages by Amanda Bushman at Fleet Feet and Jesse Kalisher’s photo essay on the farmers and residents in the White Cross area who are worried about the possibility that their community will be the site for a new UNC airport.
Another photo exhibit this month features works by the late Charles Dennis. The exhibition, on display at the Center for Documenting the American South, features images selected from Dennis’ Baldhead Island portfolio and from his 1996 Hurricane Fran series.
There’s also an opening scheduled at 7 p.m. at Wootini for Matt Duquette, a Buffalo, N.Y. transplant. His collection “Transitions†contains old and new works spanning five years and a good deal of life changes.
