Open lakes lure locals

Posted on March 19, 2009 by Staff

University Lake and the Cane Creek Reservoir will reopen for recreational use on Saturday. OWASA has designated the day Lightning Brown Day, honoring the late community activist and member of the OWASA Board of Directors. All boat rental, boat launching and lake-use fees — except those for electric trolling motor rentals — will be waived on Saturday only.

University Lake will be open Friday-Mondays, 6:30a.m.-6p.m., and for the Memorial Day holiday. The Cane Creek Reservoir will be open from 6:30a.m.-6p.m. on Saturdays only. These schedules are in effect through June 30. Recreation hours after July 1 will be further evaluated as part of the budget process this spring. For more information on hours and uses, visit owasa.org/home/Facilities.aspx.
