‘Democracy Now!’s Goodman to visit

Amy Goodman, host of the radio and TV show “Democracy Now!,” will be coming to the Triangle on Wednesday as part of the show’s 13th anniversary tour. A catered reception will be held at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at the Eno River Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 4907 Garrett Road in Durham. Goodman will then speak at 7 in the church sanctuary.

Goodman will be talking about her new book, Standing Up to the Madness: Ordinary Heroes in Extraordinary Times – co-written with her brother, investigative journalist David Goodman – an examination of the power of grassroots America.

This event is sponsored by local independent media organizations WCOM 103.5, WNCU 90.7, The Peoples Channel (cable channel 8) and Balance & Accuracy in Journalism.
