Posted on May 28, 2009 by Staff

The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Board of Education appointed Lorraine Detrude as executive director of exceptional education and student services.

Detrude has served as director of exceptional education children services for Chatham County Schools since 2006 and previously held a similar position in several school districts in New Hampshire. She holds a bachelor’s degree in speech from the University of Connecticut and a master’s degree in special education from Boston College.

Detrude replaces Margaret Blackwell, who will retire at the end of the school year.
