Bradshaw Quarry center to remain open

Posted on September 16, 2009 by Staff

Orange County announces that it is keeping the Bradshaw Quarry SWCC open:

Orange County Solid Waste Convenience Center at Bradshaw Quarry will Remain Open

The Orange County Board of County Commissioners at their regular meeting held on September 15, 2009 voted to keep the Bradshaw Quarry Solid Waste Convenience Center open. The Center was scheduled to close its gates permanently at the end of business on Sunday, September 20 in response to budgetary constraints, limits posed on program expansion at the site, and because it was the least used of the five Solid Waste Convenience Centers located throughout the County. Users of the site strongly disagreed with the closure and presented their views to the BOCC at several public meetings. The BOCC determined this Center would remain open pending additional discussion by Solid Waste staff and the Solid Waste Management Plan Work Group of a long term plan for Convenience Center operations county-wide.

Beginning Monday September 21, 2009, the new Convenience Center hours for all Centers will be:
OPEN Monday, Tuesday, Friday 7AM – 6PM
OPEN Saturday 7AM to 5PM
CLOSED Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday
