Tuesday’s rain was the first serious amount of widespread precipitation in almost a month and it sent many in Carrboro scurrying for cover.
Above, Weaver Street Market patrons who were enjoying the lawn make a run for the cover of an awning. Below, Anthony Dimarco of Hillsborough hops over a puddle and heads for cover as well.
The storm dumped more than a half-inch of rain throughout southern Orange County. Official readings at the OWASA water treatment plant on Jones Ferry Road show .64 of an inch fell. For the month, Orange County is still far below the August average of 4.7 inches.
