Board members honored

Posted on November 25, 2009 by Staff

Board members Jean Hamilton and Lisa Stuckey attended their last Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Board of Education meeting last Thursday night. Hamilton and Stuckey did not seek re-election to the board for the upcoming term.

Board Vice Chair Mike Kelley presented Hamilton and Stuckey with certificates and gifts to honor their service. Hamilton received a clock to commemorate the role she has played as the group’s timekeeper. Stuckey received an engraved wooden box.

Hamilton served a four-year term on the board. Stuckey served two consecutive fouryear terms and was elected board chair on three occasions.

New board of education members Michelle (Shell) Brownstein and J. M. (Joe) Green will be sworn into office on Thursday, Dec. 3 at 6:30 p.m. in Chapel Hill Town Hall.
