Jones, a breast cancer survivor, is a community volunteer, including serving on the Chapel Hill Public Library Foundation board. Osment, currently undergoing treatment for a rare type of ovarian cancer, is a senior lawyer at the UNC Center for Civil Rights at the UNC School of Law.
