Autism lecture

Geri Dawson, chief science officer for Autism Speaks, will give a talk, “New Directions in the Treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder,” on April 22 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Extraordinary Ventures.

Dawson oversees a $40 million research budget for Autism Speaks, a national advocacy and research organization. A Hillsborough resident, Dawson is a research professor in UNC’s department of psychiatry.

The event, sponsored by the Orange-Person-Chatham Area Program, is free and open to the public. Extraordinary Ventures is located at 200 S. Elliot Road. For more information, contact Peter Kramer at 913-4055.
