Reading goal reached
Glenwood Elementary exceeded its read-a-thon goal of 300,000 minutes by reading nearly 500,000 minutes, raising almost $1,400 for classroom and school projects. The kids were rewarded for their reading efforts by getting to watch their parents and teachers play each other in a basketball game.
Gift proposal
East Chapel Hill High School students, parents and community members have proposed a gift to honor David Thaden, East’s first and only principal. Thaden is retiring at the end of June. The proposed gift is a gazebo with benches, a stamped concrete walkway and solar power and will be adjacent to the cafeteria.
