Community brief: Carson 5k for education

Community brief: Butter sculpture demonstration

UNC will host a demonstration of the ancient Tibetan Buddhist art form of butter sculptures on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. at the FedEx Global Education Center. A traditional ceremony presenting the finished sculptures will be held at 1:45 p.m.

Community brief: Fix-A-Home project

The Greater Chapel Hill Association of Realtors will host the Second Annual Fix-A-Home Project on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 2105 Neville Road in Chapel Hill. Through Fix-A-Home, Realtors and volunteer workers help those who are physically or financially unable to make needed repairs to their homes or properties.

Community brief: Pilobolus dance performs

More than 1,200 area children will see the internationally renowned dance troupe Pilobolus on Nov. 21 at Memorial Hall on the UNC campus. The show is the third Carolina Performing Arts Student Matinee. More than 20 Triangle schools are bringing students to the show.
